Washi refers to Japanese paper made using native raw materials, such as kozo (mulberry), kozo and mitsumata, and traditional techniques. Compared to other papers, washi is thin yet strong, contains longer fibres and has a long shelf life. Additionally, its uniquely soft and supple texture continues to evolve over time. Paper production areas can be found throughout Japan, where the craftsmanship and expertise remains of the highest quality.

Led by traditional artisan Satoshi Nagai, N-Kobo utilises decorative methods to produce washi (Japanese paper) works for interior spaces. Founded in 1999, the workshop is based in Kawaguchi, Saitama prefecture. From traditional techniques such as applying gold leaf and granules, dyeing and painting with a deft touch, Nagai makes artworks that continue to challenge the possibilities of paper.

Studio Fujino is based in the natural surroundings of Fujino in Sagamihara, Kanagawa prefecture. After extensive training under Japanese and Italian masters, woodworker and furniture maker Hitoshi Fujisaki founded the studio in 2007. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of wood and other materials, he works with unparalleled precision and continues to take on the highest challenges of manufacturing.
